Get to Know Armenia from Winnipeg, Manitoba

My name is Armenia Basra, and I am 12 years old. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and I want to share my experience with chess.

I began my chess journey at the age of ten. I had wanted to learn chess for a long time, but there were not many opportunities in Winnipeg. My mom searched for a chess school or teacher for me, and one day she found Jojo online. This marked the beginning of my chess adventure. I wanted to learn chess because it involves strategies and critical thinking skills that can help me in everyday life.

I love chess because it is a fun game that I can play with friends and family. One of my favorite parts is when I find myself in a better position than my opponent. Of course, like most people, I enjoy winning! I also appreciate learning new strategies in chess.

Chesscolastics has been instrumental in my chess journey. I learn new skills every week, and the group program helps me improve even more. I have also enjoyed my individual classes. I know I will continue to grow with Chesscolastics.
